New Youth Series: How to Study the Bible

This Sunday we started a new series called, How To Study The Bible, based on my (Tim's) Bible college and seminary notes. The more I put the series together, the more excited I am to go through it with you guys. The Word will come alive like never before because you'll experience first-hand what it's like to know how to dig into God's Word for yourself. It's not too late to jump into the study with us!

In case you're interested, I purchased copies of the Bible study methods book I used in both Bible college and seminary, an excellent resource that's fun to read and easy to understand. I'll be basing most of our study on this book. Each copy retails for $19, I paid $13, but it's yours for $5 if you want one. I have four copies left.

Ending The Journey with a Party on May 7!

The last official night of The Journey is April 30. However, we're going to end The Journey for this year with a photo scavenger hunt the Wednesday after that, May 7th. Each small group will pile into their leader's car and drives around town with a digital camera to take pictures from a pre-determined list (for example, "Take a picture at Wal-Mart with at least 3 employees -- 100 points"). After an hour, we'll meet at church again, tally up the points and watch a slideshow of everyone's pictures in the Ministry Center while eating some snacks. Arrive at church a little earlier than normal because you'll be leaving with your small group leaders right at 6:30 PM!

Youth Worship Band Practicies this week

Youth worship band practices are this week. If you want to play your instrument or help sing, show up in the Ministry Center at church at 5:00 PM on these dates. You'll lead worship that evening for The Journey or Impact.
  • Jr. High: April 16 and 30, each at 5:00 PM
  • Sr. High: April 20 and May 18, each at 5:00 PM

Sr. High girls Sunday School assignment

Just a reminder for you Sr. High girls (10th-12th grade) to read Romans chapter 4 this week. Kristin will be following up about it this coming Sunday in your Sunday School class.

The Skit Guys: eHarmony commercial spoof

Just thought I'd leave you all with a funny parody of a eHarmony.com commercial, done by The Skit Guys. (If no video displays below, use this link to go directly to the video at AlexandriaYouth.com.)
