The final Burning Bush of all time is this Friday night, May 30, at New Life Church in Alexandria. We'll experience a great time of worship led by Joe Schoenack and band followed by a time of honoring all of our graduating seniors. Invite your friends because it's going to be a great time, especially since it will end with free pizza for everyone! As always, Burning Bush is for students in 7th-12th grade. It all kicks off at 6:30 PM and should end around 8:30 PM.

Final Impact Meeting this Sunday @ Church
I know, I know, it's sad, but this Sunday is our final Impact meeting for the school year. The worship team will lead us and then we'll finish up the How To Study The Bible series by discussing the final step of Application. See you there!
Impact worship band practice time change
Due to FCA's event that afternoon, the Impact worship team will practice at church this Sunday starting at 6:00 PM. As always, practice is open to anyone who wants to participate. Just bring your instrument and/or voice at 6:00 PM this Sunday, May 18.
Final Sr. High Cafe and Jr. High Sunday School this Sunday!
Come this Sunday to wrap up a great year of Sunday School classes! After this Sunday, there will be no more Sunday School classes.
Cinnamon Roll Sale
This Sunday is the last Sunday to pre-order your Cinnamon Rolls to support the Belize missions trip team. You can pick up your rolls next Sunday, May 25.
If you're going on the trip to Belize, sign up at the youth kiosk to help make rolls and earn money toward your account.
A death in Belize
Last Friday, Pastor Dyer, the 72-year old pastor of the church we'll be working with in Belize, went to the local prison to make arrangements for us to be there next month. When he got home, he wasn't feeling well so he went to lay down, but collapsed in the doorway of his hut and died. He was really the driving force behind the church and camp we'll be building. Hopefully by the time we get there someone else in the congregation will rise up to be their pastor, but it's quite possible that won't happen anytime soon. Pray for the church and the congregation! It appears that our visit may be very timely in being used by God to generate excitement and morale for them that will help hold the church together through this very difficult transition. Our trip is much more significant than any of us realize right now.

Soul Fuel: It's definitely not fun to be unprepared when you are called on to answer a question in class. Maybe that's why the Bible tells us that we must "always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (I Peter 3:15). God wants us to be ready to give solid answers to people who get curious when they see us live and give our faith. Soul Fuel will help you become effective and relevant to those who are seeking Christ or are trying to tweak their Christianity.
Parents Dinner: We realize that the parent is the most influential person in every student's life, so we want to enjoy a dinner with you and discuss how the youth ministry can support you best. We'd also love to hear how your teenager is doing spiritually so we know better how to encourage him/her at church. Sign-ups for parents will be made available both at the youth kisok at church and on our website.
Wake 'n Ski: Almost every Sunday Jr. Hig and Sr. High students get together at someone's house enjoy an afternoon of water skiing, tubing, wake boarding, knee boarding and more. Afterwards we feast on a cookout together and do a quick 10-minute Bible lesson that's outreach oriented for your pre-saved friends that you invite. The cost is $5/person to help cover gas and food, but your unchurched friends come free!
Make sure you're on our TXT message list so you get instant last-minute cancelations notices if the weather goes bad or the location changes.
May ParentLink: Teenagers and Jobs
This month's topic is teenagers and jobs. Just in time for the approaching summer, your family can start talking about whether kids are ready to work. It also dives into other aspects of employment. Together your family can explore attitudes about work, what kind of rewards your teens expect from their jobs, and how they know when they're overworking. Download it here.
Pictures from The Journey's scavenger hunt
We had a great time last night doing the Photo Scavenger Hunt! You all did an excellent job! We checked out all the pictures last night on the big screen while eating ice cream, but now they're online so you can check them out more closely and post your comments.

 C-Group raking project
Both the Monday and Wednesday C-Groups are having their first of two raking nights this coming Wednesday, May 7, at Lake Blackwell, by Holmes City. Meet at the Ripley's and together you'll walk over to the home you'll be raking. Anyone who comes late after practices can look for and follow the signs by Ripley's to easily find the place. It is right across the lake from their home. (drive 9 miles west of Alexandria on Highway 27. Turn left at the intersection just past Holmes City, the Strawberry Patch, there will be a sign for raking at that interesction. You'll see one more sign. Follow it.) Please bring rakes if you have them, gloves if you need them, and an attitude for some fun servanthood. After you finished raking, you'll head back to Ripley's for a hotdog supper and bonfire.
150 FREE movie tickets for Expelled
I have 150 free movie tickets for the film Expelled, with Ben Stein, which opens at Cinema 9 this weekend and will play for only two weeks. If you want to see the movie, please contact me or find me at church and I'll be happy to give you as many tickets as you need. If you haven't heard of the movie, basically it's a documentary advocating for an open discussion between Intelligent Design and Darwinism in public academia. It's quite fascinating. Here's the trailer on YouTube.
