 Last week of Bible studies
This is the last week of Bible studies meeting at my house. We've had a great summer together so far. Let's end with a bang! All of Jr. High are invited to attend on Wednesday, August 22, and all of Sr. High are invited to attend on Thursday, August 23. Remember to bring your Bibles, swim suit, and a snack or drink to share with everyone.

Still need input for the communication survey
If you have not yet taking our breif communication survey, please make a point to do so. It will help us determine how we can best stay in touch with news, updates and information. It's only seven multiple-choice questions, so should only take about 90 seconds of your time. Both students and parents are encourage to take it only once.

 Changes for confirmation this year
As many of you know, a dedicated confirmation review team met faithfully all summer to make the program as effective and valuable as possible. They thoroughly evaluated every aspect of confirmation and sought input from many sources, including the denomination's own leadership. Last night the results of their research and hard work were brought before the church’s Leadership Team and approved for implementation starting this school year.
Most of you should get a letter in the mail explaining the changes, but if you don't want to wait that long or you aren't on our 7th-9th grade postal mailing list, you can download the letter and the 2007 syllabus from our website by clicking here.
M.U.U.U.C.E. departure info
From Dean Olson:
Just a reminder to everyone who missed the annoucement in the bulletin on Sunday: the bus for MUUUCE is leaving at 1pm on Thursday and planning to return at approximately 4pm on Saturday. Also a reminder to take another look at the letter that says "What TO bring" & "What NOT to bring." One item they are really pointing out is proper swim wear for both guys & gals. Another issue is for any of you that have medications to take. Please follow the instructions on the letter and bring me your Ziploc bag before you get on the bus Thursday. There's a form I need to fill out also to make sure that their protocol is followed. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday and having an AWESOME weekend! If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. Email:

You do the math video
Here's a short video thought I'd share it with you all. It serves as a great reminder! (Although, I'm a little surprised to learn that the average person spends over an hour a day in the bathroom?! That means some people spend even more time than that! Wow.)

Wake 'n Ski canceled this Sunday
Wake 'n Ski is canceled for this Sunday, which unfortunately was going to be our final Wake 'n Ski event of the year. The host family is unable to do it plus there's a church picnic and baptismal service taking place that evening at the Carlson's and Martinson's place on Burgen Lake. So we want to encourage all of you to come to that instead.
In memory of all the great times we had at Wake 'n Ski this summer, I've posted several video clips and lots of pictures on our website. Feel free to login to the site and leave your comments.
How can we best communicate with you?
As we head into a new school year with an ever-growing ministry, effective communication with everyone becomes more and more of an issue, and a vital one at that. Please help us determine how we can best stay in touch with news, updates and information by taking the survey linked below. It's only seven multiple-choice questions, so should only take about 90 seconds of your time. Both students and parents are encourage to take it only once.
Bible studies canceled this week
Due to M.U.U.U.C.E. this week, all Bible studies at my house (Tim's house) are canceled this week, both for Sr. High and Jr. High. Next week's Bible studies are the final ones at our house for the summer, so all of Jr. High are invited to attend on August 22 and all of Sr. High are invited to attend on August 23. See you all then!
Parent/student info meeting on August 27
In case you haven't heard about this enough yet, please remember the parent/student information meeting about this upcoming year of student ministry is on Monday, August 27 at 6:30 PM in the worship center.

 Think before you post
I came across these videos and thought I'd share them with you guys, not to be an alarmist or anything -- just to serve as a friendly reminder. (If you are viewing this in your email and the videos below do not appear, click here to view them on our website.)
Sr. High Canoe Trip pictures are posted
If you haven't checked out the pictures from the Sr. High Canoe Trip yet, they're all online and ready for your comments.
Important Parent/Student Info Meeting!
Please, if you haven't done so already, mark your calendars with the parent/student info meeting on August 27th at the church. We will discuss the future of Student Ministries, what we will prayfully accomplish and many of the necessary changes that will take place as a result. You will definitely want to be at this meeting.
Bible studies at my house are canceled next week
All Bible studies at my house are canceled next week due to M.U.U.U.C.E. We will not be meeting Wednesday, August 15, or Thursday, August 16. Our final two Bible studies for the summer will take place the next week on Wednesday, August 22, for all the Jr. High students and Thursday, August 23, for all the Sr. High students.
Listen to over 200 Christian music artists on our website
The youth ministry has been collecting Christian music for many years and used to loan the CDs out to you guys. Unfortunately, that apparently stopped because many CDs were broken, scratched or never returned. Now there's a new solution!
I've integrated our entire Christian music collection into our website for your on-demand listening pleasure. There's over 5,000 songs and more than 200 different Christian artists available to you whenever you want it just by logging in to AlexandriaYouth.com.
To access the Christian music library, login to the website. (If you do not yet have a site account, click here to create one.) In the little user menu that appears on the left after you login, click the link called, "Christian Music Library." It will take you to a page where you will read the rules for keeping it legal and request a music account. Once I've created your account, you can login, enjoy all the music and start creating playlists of your favorite songs.
